Series Thoughts: Blackhawks vs. Cannucks

I was definitely sad to see the Cannucks go, since it never feels right to have play-offs without any Canadian teams. Still, the Blackhawks did a good job, there’s no denying that.

The Blackhawks are a team inspired. They made the play-offs for the first time in seven years and then they kept pushing it all the way to the conference final. After years of not being involved in the big dance, Chicago has made their presence known and they’re determined that this will be their year. The Blackhawks are playing passionately and that’s one big factor in their success.

Like Detroit and Boston, the Cannucks had an easy first round and had a long time to rest and got a little sloppy and then, like Boston, never really had a chance to get their groove back. The Blackhawks took the early victory and were determined not to give it up. From game one, this series was Chicago’s to lose and they didn’t and so the Cannucks went home and the Blackhawks are moving on to the conference final for the first time in fourteen years.
